West Field is a prettily furnished and versatile room with a double or twin beds and an en suite shower room. It is a double aspect room with views over the garden to the church and towards the rear of the property with Church View, the patio and the gardens.
The pictures above show West Field set up as a twin room and the view from the window towards the church and gardens. The picture at the bottom right is a view of West Field, Laxton, (also known as Top Field) taken from the top of the castle mound when the field was planted with the second year crops in the 3 field rotation system. In the 2011 / 12 season West Field will be the wheat field. The Jury walked the field on the last Thursday of November, inspecting the roadways, sykes and ditches, and hammered in stakes to mark the boundaries. Each of the three fields is inspected in the year in which it is the wheat field, so is inspected once in three years in strict rotation. |
