South Field is a light, airy double room with an en suite shower room. The main window looks to the side of the property while the second window looks out to the front and has a view of the Dovecote Inn, the main street through the village and the open fields beyond.

The picture on the bottom left shows harvest time in South Field, which is the second year field for the 2011 / 2012 season and was inspected by the Laxton Jury in November 26th 2010. South Field will be the wheat field again in 2013 / 2014. The wheat field is inspected each year, so each field is inspected once in three years. The Jury walk the field, hammering in stakes at the junctions of the strips and roadways and checking the ditches (known locally as dykes).

The picture on the right shows the annual Michael Duxbury Memorial Vintage Tractor Rally passing through South Field in July 2005. In the foreground of this picture you can see the grass has been cut for hay. This area is one of the sykes (pronounces 'six') which run between the strips. The grass growing on them is auctioned in early July each year to farmers from the village who may cut it from July 15th to make hay.
