South Field is a light, airy double room with an en suite shower room. The main window looks to the side of the property while the second window looks out to the front and has a view of the Dovecote Inn, the main street through the village and the open fields beyond.
The picture on the bottom left shows harvest time in South Field. In 2009 / 10 it will be fallow and managed under the requirements of the stewardship agreement as overwinter stubble. The ground will be broken up by harrowing before 20th March to provide nest sites for ground nesting birds. The picture on the right shows the annual Michael Duxbury Memorial Vintage Tractor Rally passing through South Field in July 2005. In the foreground of this picture you can see the grass has been cut for hay. This area is one of the sykes (pronounces 'six') which run between the strips. The grass growing on them is auctioned in early July each year to farmers from the village who may cut it from July 15th to make hay. |
